In Valentini’s work, the poetry of painting and engraving are founded upon several common elements: the artistic culture of the Renaissance based on harmony and equilibrium; the sense of space and proportion to be found in architecture itself; the abstract research of the Russian constructivists and of great masters (such as Hans Richter) who have greatly influenced him ; his interest in music; the need to represent the flow of time, of the cosmos and of memory ; the influence of, and his great sensitivity towards, the materials used (from paper to the surfaces of wood and walls - the artist has created works of art on old and modern buildings in Italy and in the USA).
