Besides the "Gilded Bronzes ", many archeologically interesting pieces from Ancient Roman times were found in Pergola. Pergola does not boast Roman origins, but its territory, a few kilometres from the ancient via Flaminia and probably crossed by a road which connected via Flaminia and via Salaria, is surrounded by the remains of four cities which date from the end of the Republican age - Suasa (Castelleone di Suasa), Sentinum (Sassoferrato), Urvinum Metaurense (Urbino), Forum Sempronii (Fossombrone).
