Founded in 1255, has a facade of smooth cut stone with a magnificent gothic sandstone portal decorated with animals and floral motifs.
The interior, in the form of a Latin cross, was rebuilt during the course of the 18th Century.
It houses important wooden statues (notably Saint Nicholas of Tolentino of 1685 and the Blessed Virgin, carved by Giacomo Piazzetta and decorated by G.F. Ferri in 1692) as well as many paintings (in particular "The Annunciation" by Lavinia Fontana, "Resting on the Flight into Egypt" by Giovanni Antonio Scaramuccia, "Madonna in Glory and Saints" by Antonio Viviani and the 14th century Crucifix by Mello da Gubbio).
